Successful packaging must protect the product within while standing out in a crowded marketplace. It must attract attention and sell itself by convincing the consumer to purchase it rather than its counterpart in a very short time. The form of the container, whether tin can, bottle, carton or box, together with any label or device must provide relevant information in a striking and immediate manner in order to position this as the singular item needed off the shelf.
